Technology We Use
DIGITAL X-RAYS
Even if you don’t have any symptoms, there may be more going on with your oral health below the surface. X-rays can be used to generate radiographic images of areas the dentist is interested in viewing more in depth.
Our specially trained team at Lifetime Dental Care takes every precaution when using our state of the art digital X-ray imaging technology. For years we have been safely taking images for patients from Richland, West Richland, Kennewick, Pasco, and the surrounding areas to get a better understanding of each person’s oral health and discuss potential treatment options.
X-ray beams are used to create a black and white image of your bones and teeth. Digital X-ray images are captured immediately, allowing the dentist to analyze them instantly and review the findings with you.
Our advanced technology at Lifetime Dental Care allows us to generate digital X-ray images quickly right in the office. We securely store the images electronically so we can more efficiently treat you.
Establish Medical History
When you are a new patient, the dentist may want to have digital X-ray images taken of your mouth to get a better idea of your present oral health status. This sets up a base level the dentist can reference later to better identify changes.
Uncover Issues
Though you might not notice anything unusual, digital X-ray images may catch an issue that is going on in your teeth or jaw. Early detection is helpful in treating problems and may result in your health being improved sooner and potentially more cost effective.
Diagnose
Images generated from digital X-rays can be great tools for the dentist to better diagnose problems you may be experiencing or catch an issue before it becomes a larger problem. X-ray imaging can find problems early on, which can help you avoid more drastic and expensive procedures later.
These images can uncover:
- Tooth decay hidden by fillings
- Bone infections
- Cavities between teeth
- Periodontal disease
- Tumors
- Cysts or abscesses
The dentist will look at your medical history, disease risk, age, and symptoms to determine how often you should have digital X-ray images taken.
If you are ready to look into have digital X-ray images taken, go ahead and give us a call at (509) 628-1144 to set up an appointment. HEALTHIER OVERALL
Cosmetic dentistry can help improve not only the look of your teeth but how they function. Damaged or misaligned teeth often affect your bite and inhibit you from chewing food and getting essential nutrients, affecting your overall health. Food must be broken down adequately to receive all the nutrients your body needs. One or more missing teeth can also make it difficult to chew as other teeth may shift to try to occupy the vacant space. The healthier your teeth are, the healthier you are
INCREASED LONGEVITY
Cosmetic dentistry can enhance your appearance, confidence, and potentially help you live longer. A study by Wayne State University found strong smiles were associated with longevity. A professor studied a series of photos of individuals and those with large smiles often outlived people that had a faint or weak smile and those who didn’t smile period.
SUCCESS
According to a recent study, professors at the University of California, Berkeley found smiles help individuals concentrate and be more successful. They examined images of women and spoke with them throughout their lives. Women with positive facial expressions tended to be less negative, more organized, concentrated and driven than those who didn’t.

INTRAORAL CAMERAS
Advancements in technology have provided the industry with tools that help assist our staff in detecting problems at early stages. Here at Lifetime Dental Care, we are proud to provide procedures involving intraoral imaging. The intraoral camera allows the possibility not only to detect even the smallest of details but also helps to identify defects that can lead to problems later.
Intraoral cameras are small digital cameras that are about the size of a pen that have the capability to connect to a large screen to show real-time images as a mouth is being examined. This device helps educate our patients by providing them with information allowing them easily to understand the condition of their oral health. Attached to the intraoral camera is a bright LED that helps to diagnose cavities, fractures, or other defects that would be hard to see with the naked eye.
Immediate Results: with intraoral imaging you can see exactly what the doctor sees while inspecting your teeth, it is also possible for the patient to see what the doctor does when working on your teeth.
Precise: We have the ability to capture more details by taking high-quality photos of the inside of your mouth. This also helps to identify any changes to your oral conditions over time.
Easy Referrals: If another opinion is needed from a specialist, the photos taken from the intraoral camera can easily be emailed.
Better Planning: With more detailed results it makes it easier to identify the best treatment plan for your exact dental needs.
rotary endodontics
Here at Lifetime Dental Care, we are proud to offer an approach to smoother, more comfortable procedures when conducting root canal procedures. We use rotary endodontic technology to assist with the treatment of a root canal. There are several advantages to using rotary endodontic treatment over traditional root canal therapy, and it all starts with the tools.
Instead of using traditional manual files and stainless-steel instruments to treat a root canal, Rotary endodontics employs electrically-powered instruments to perform treatment on root canals. The hand tool we use is equipped with a tip made of nickel titanium. This material is 5 times more flexible than stainless steel.
Due to the flexibility, the nickel-titanium instrument is able to perform unique movements that allow the tool to insert deeply into a curved root canal without damaging or stretching the passageway. This allows a more reliable procedure to be done in a quicker manner.
ADVANTAGES
OF ROTARY ENDODONTICS
This advanced technology provides more precision and reliability while being a quieter and faster procedure.
Precision
The nickel titanium is capable of cleaning out the root canal more smoothly and consistently.
Reliability
Root canal procedures have less chance of complications and are more reliable.
Quieter
The tool is much smoother and quieter. This provides the convenience of having the procedure done without the loud grinding that is experienced with manual files.
Faster
The fast treatment time, coupled with instruments that are quieter, creates a more comfortable experience for patients.
With rotary endodontics, our patients feel more comfortable during root canal procedures. To find out more information, and if rotary endodontics is right for you, contact our office today! Call (509) 628-1144.
DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS
Digital Impressions are the latest technology in capturing a replica of the mouth, meaning no more messy impression trays! By using a special tool and advanced computer software, we are able to create a virtual model of the hard and soft tissues in the mouth. There are a number of benefit to digital impressions including providing better accuracy than the older mold impressions can.
Surgically guided implants
Surgically Guided Implants is a modern dental procedure used to place dental implants in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. This approach allows dentists to plan and perform the surgery with high precision.
Surgically Guided Implants allow for more accurate and predictive dental treatments. The process includes creating a digital image of the patient’s mouth in order to determine the perfect position and angle of the implant before actually placing it.
INVISALIGN
For people who want to straighten their teeth, but don’t want to deal with metal braces, Invisalign can be a great option. Since this technique of using clear aligners is different than that of metal braces, an Invisalign-trained provider is needed to move your smile in the right direct.
Picking the right provider might seem overwhelming. Luckily, you can visit us at Lifetime Dental Care in Richland, WA to see how we work hand in hand with dental technicians to create perfectly fit clear aligners for you.
